If you came across a piece you’d love to own don’t hesitate to contact me. The following is a rough price guide:
- Figure Drawing Pencil – starting at EUR 560.-
- Figure Drawing Charcoal – starting at EUR 1’300.-
- Study in Pencil – starting at EUR 520.-
- Study in Charcoal (casts) – starting at EUR 1’400.-
COMMISSIONS: PORTRAITS
Traditionally, portraits are done from life with the client/model sitting for the artist for several hours (or weeks or even months for big paintings). In today’s busy world, this of course is not often possible. A portrait done from a high quality photograph is an option, even though it is very difficult to get the same vitality into the picture as working from life would allow. The ideal way would be to arrange for 1-3 sittings, where I take the photographs and start the drawing. I then continue and finish working from the photograph.
Prices for portraits vary greatly with size and medium. At the moment I can only offer drawn portraits in pencil or charcoal since I’m just learning how to paint.
- Portrait in Pencil – starting at EUR 380.-
- Portrait in Charcoal – starting at EUR 490.-
The exact price is set before work starts and it is important that both client and artist are happy about a fair fee. 1/2 is paid upon me accepting the commission, the remainder upon you receiving and accepting the piece.
EXAMPLES:
A big (about: A2 / 42×59.5cm / 16.6×23.4in) nice framed portrait in charcoal done from life might come to about EUR 650.- including the carefully selected frame and the necessary sittings (two to eight sittings of 2-4 hours).
A small (about: A5 / 14.8×21cm / 5.8×8.3in) portrait done from a photograph – without a frame – would come to about EUR 280.-
